‘Thamma’ Box Office Day 4: Ayushmann Khurrana & Rashmika Mandanna’s Film Struggles to Cross ₹60 Crore After Big Drop

Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna in Thamma movie still, film faces major drop on Day 4 box office collection

Mumbai, October 9: Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna’s latest release Thamma started strong at the box office but seems to have lost its momentum as the weekend approaches. Despite impressive performances and positive early reviews, the film saw a significant dip on Day 4 (Friday), disappointing both fans and trade analysts.

Day-Wise Box Office Collection

According to early estimates, Thamma made about ₹7.5 crore on its fourth day, bringing the total amount collected domestically to about ₹56.8 crore. After a successful first weekend, the film is currently having trouble keeping up.

Here’s a quick breakdown of the film’s box office performance so far:

  • Day 1 (Tuesday): ₹18.2 crore

  • Day 2 (Wednesday): ₹16.7 crore

  • Day 3 (Thursday): ₹14.4 crore

  • Day 4 (Friday): ₹7.5 crore (estimated)

Total (4 Days): ₹56.8 crore (nett)

Although it is only a few crores short of reaching the ₹60 crore milestone, the significant drop in Friday's figures suggests that Thamma may encounter strong competition from new releases this weekend.

About the Film

Thamma, which is directed by Anubhav Sinha, is a social drama that mixes emotion, family values, and humor. Ayushmann portrays a teacher from a small town who goes on a life-changing journey alongside Rashmika Mandanna’s character. The film’s music and heartfelt storytelling first attracted family audiences to the theaters.

However, mixed word-of-mouth and limited repeat value appear to have impacted its performance.

What Went Wrong?

Trade specialists think that the film's slow pace and specific storyline might have restricted its popularity outside of city areas. Moreover, the current cricket season and several OTT releases have taken away the audience's focus.

Film analyst Taran Adarsh noted,

Thamma started on a promising note, but the drop after Day 3 is concerning. The film now needs a strong weekend push to sustain in theatres.”

Audience Reaction

Some fans have really liked the chemistry between Ayushmann and Rashmika, but others think the story is pretty predictable. On social media, a lot of people praised the acting but said the film's pacing was "too slow for a festive season release."

Conclusion

With its 4-day collection nearing ₹57 crore, Thamma is far from a flop but not yet a blockbuster either. The weekend performance will be crucial in determining whether it can cross the ₹75 crore mark and stay in the race.

Stay tuned for Day 5 box office updates and weekend performance analysis!
