Smriti Mandhana’s Wedding Postponed Following Father’s Health Emergency

Smriti Mandhana postpones her wedding after her father shows heart attack symptoms and is hospitalised

The much-anticipated wedding of Indian women’s cricket star Smriti Mandhana and music composer Palash Muchhal has been postponed indefinitely after a sudden medical emergency in Mandhana's family. Her father, Srinivas Mandhana, was hospitalised in Sangli, Maharashtra, with symptoms of a possible heart attack.

 Health Scare Prompted the Decision

  • According to Dr. Naman Shah, Director at Sarvhit Hospital, Mr. Mandhana began experiencing left-sided chest pain around midday, prompting immediate hospitalisation.

  • Tests revealed slightly raised cardiac enzymes, and his blood pressure was reportedly elevated. He is under continuous observation, possibly needing further cardiac monitoring.

  • The delay is being attributed to “physical and mental stress” linked to the wedding preparations.

 Smriti’s Response & Priorities

Smriti, who is known to be very close to her father, chose to prioritise his health over the ceremony. Her manager, Tuhin Mishra, said she refused to go ahead with the wedding “in the midst of a medical emergency.”
Her message resonated with fans, many of whom praised her for putting family first

 What About the Wedding Date?

  • The wedding was originally scheduled for 23 November 2025 in her hometown of Sangli, with family-only celebrations planned.

  • As of now, no new date has been announced. According to her manager, they will only reschedule “once her father recovers.”

  • Both families have asked the media and fans to give them space and time to deal with this emergency.

 Why This Matters

  • Smriti Mandhana is not just a cricketer — she’s a global icon for women’s cricket. Her decision reflects a deeply personal and human side to public life.

  • The postponement highlights the emotional risks and pressures that come with arranging a high-profile wedding.

  • Fans and fellow cricketers have shown strong support, with many sending prayers for her father’s recovery and respect for her choice.

 Final Thoughts

In a world where celebrity weddings grab headlines, Smriti Mandhana has made a heartfelt decision — pausing her big day to stand by her father when he needs her most. This isn’t just about love or spectacle; it’s a reminder that family is everything.

Let’s hope for Mr. Mandhana’s fast recovery — and whenever the wedding does resume, it will be a celebration steeped in love, strength, and resilience.
